Philosophy

The old adage, "no pain no gain," is a recipe for the perfect injury or burnout. There is a time for pushing a persons limits but only after that person has built a sound foundation. I provide each person with the tools and knowledge needed to build such a foundation. I believe in smart, steady training that increases at a gradual pace. I believe this to be the best way to achieve fitness goals and alleviate the chance of burnout and injury.

Workout programs are designed for with specific and individual goals, whether it be an Ironman race, or running a 5 kilometer race. Through the use of a heart rate monitor and pre-established zones, each person knows during each training session just how hard to push their body. Each workout is designed with the idea of balance and moderation. The majority of time is spent building endurance at a reasonable pace with the occasional speed and strength sessions intertwined to safely build speed.

This philosophy insures the most healthy, physical and mental, approach to fitness. Exercise and training shouldn't be a burden that ultimately becomes a mundane task that a person resents. Training with a purpose and a goal while following a few simple guidelines, while maintaining a level of symmetry in the training regime, exercise will become more of a reward than regret.
